Hibernation in the Hive

The embedded hexagonal elements in this painting glimpsing out amongst the cool blues and snowy clouds were the perfect peek of spring moments. I am often inspired by the environmental changes and weather and while I was painting these 4 pieces, the snow started to melt and a few chinook days teased a hint of spring. Now of course we’re back to full on winter conditions with the past 2 days of blizzard snow, but spring weather and the accompanying flowers and bees buzzing are just around the corner.
